Mind, Body, Soul
It is a known and proven fact that our mind and our body associate in many ways. Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can positively or negatively affect our lives functioning. In other words, our minds can affect how healthy our bodies are! On the other hand, what we do with our physical body (what we eat, how much we exercise, even our posture) can impact our mental state (again positively or negatively). This attributes of the mind and body develop a complex relationship between the mind and body.
For example, a person who is well-educated, fit, loved, and amiable might seem to have it all. Right? But what we don't know about this person is that they battle depression. Their depression gives them anxiety, and they are afraid of whats to come in the future. This person's fit body and amiable nature slowly start to fade away, along with multiple friends.
The example shown above demonstrates how a person's mind and mental status can effect their body and their life.
Again, let's say that there is a person who is well-educated, fit, loved, amiable, and happy. This person may seem to have the perfect life, but what we don't realize is that this person's physical state is eating away at their self esteem. This person becomes embarrassed of their own body and avoids people as much as possible to avoid humiliation. This person becomes less and less social and has little-to-none confidence left in their system. Though others assure this person that they are perfectly fit this person has trained their brain to think negatively of itself and to look down upon the body.
The scenario presented above shows how a body matter can destroy one's state of mind/mental status.
In the end, the saying mind over matter cannot relate to the connection of the mind and body. But what can relate is how you currently feel and how you want to feel; and how passionate you are about getting yourself ~ physically and mentally ~ in the state you want to be in.
